Milestone 60 and birthday gifts

Milestone 60 I officially turned 60 on February 11, 2026, and I received a few birthday gifts that I just had to share. I even made a video to show them off! The Professional Easel: My sister-in-law Debbie (Kathy Rose’s sister) got me a real easel, and I love it. It’s something I’ve needed forever but just couldn’t bring myself to spend the money on. The Confidence Boost: Having a portable easel for “en plein air” painting is a game-changer. My grandpa always taught me that when you go out in public, you dress properly. I’ve realized the same applies to my art. When I was out painting live with my old, homemade easel, I didn’t feel as confident. Now, with the proper tools, I feel like a pro. Thank you, Debbie, for such a useful gift! The Artist’s Style: My good friend Rocky got me the perfect hat—a purple French beret! Again, having the right “tools” makes the process so much more fun. Thank you, Rocky! What’s Next? Keep an eye out for my first painting of 2026: The Purple Train. I’ll be posting it soon, and it will be available in the shop at tadshop.jgartis.com. Keep living your best life every day! — JG
